My last entry marks both an end and a beginning to thezombieshuffle.com.
When I started blogging, I had a specific focus in mind. I asked myself the following:
No one gets married thinking “this marriage should last me a couple years, at least until I can afford a better one”. We all want this to work, we all want this to last. So why do so many fail? And for those that don’t fail, why do so many people end up unhappy or in a marriage that isn’t satisfying?
In an attempt to answer that question for myself I wrote down a number of concepts around relationships that I wanted to explore. Things like happiness, love, commitment, communication, identity and a few others. I wanted to understand what they were, and what they meant to me.
I charted out a rough flow for presenting them that I thought made sense, and over the past two years I have read, thought and written about those topics. Occasionally I’ve switched up the order, or worked additional ideas in, but I’ve managed to stay fairly close to my original plan.
My last entry When is it too late? was the final piece in my “planned” content, and my original vision is now complete. It’s been a personal journey for me, and I’ve learned a lot about myself in the process. For anyone who has joined me along the way, thanks. I hope I’ve been able to inspire somewhat, and make you appreciate what you have. If not, I hope I at least was able to make you think. This isn’t the end though.
The subtitle for the site has always been “One Guys Take on Life and Love”. Life and Love go hand in hand, but my focus has been more on love. Moving forward I am broadening my focus a bit, and writing on pretty much anything that is of interest or seems important to me at a particular time.
As I’ve said before, life is a journey. It’s time to see where it takes me next…
